Salmon Run Golf Course, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Brookings, Oregon.
Salmon Run Golf Course first opened for play in 1999. The course was designed by Troy Claveran.
Salmon Run plays to a par of 72 and a maximum distance of 7,200 yards. The course rating is 70.4 and the slope rating is 123.
Salmon Run's signature hole is hole #4. The "Lombard Street Hole". This hole is a Par 3 that plays from 111 to 164 yards depending on the tee selection. The hole has what some describe as the "crookedest cart path in the world." It climbs 150 feet to the top tee. The view on this 164-yard par three rivals the best. The approach shot is exciting with a 100-foot drop to an island green.

I just moved to Brookings, Oregon from Hollister, California. Salmon Run is a very challenging course with tree lined holes, elevated tee shots, and some long playing par 4's. Accuracy is a must, and the greens are large with some challenging undulations. During the salmon's spawning season, the salmon can be seen in the creek (fed by the Chetco River) which meanders throughout the golf course. There are no houses within view of the course, and it's only 3 1/2 miles from Brookings. So if you can't get any birdies at Salmon Run, try your luck at fishing!

This was my home course when I lived in Brookings, and I look forward every August to play it 3 times during our week long visit. It's beautiful and challenging, yet fair. Yes, accuracy helps a lot, but it's not impossible to get out of trouble.
